Quality Counseling That Fits Your budget in St. Louis.
Affordable Therapy That Works for You
I truly believe that everyone should have access to quality mental health care, no matter your financial situation. That’s why I offer sliding scale therapy, making sure that you can focus on feeling better without the added stress of high costs. My sessions range from $50 to $100 per session, which means that you can get the support you need without breaking the bank.
How Does My Sliding Scale Work?
I understand that everyone’s situation is different. That’s why my sliding scale isn’t just based on your household income; I also consider any unique circumstances that might affect your ability to pay. Whether you’re managing ADHD, dealing with anxiety, or just need someone to talk to, I’ve structured my pricing to be fair and flexible. It’s all about keeping your well-being front and center.
Why I Offer a Sliding Scale
Mental health support should never feel out of reach because of financial concerns. I’ve designed my sliding scale to be as accessible as possible, because I want you to focus on healing, not on whether you can afford therapy. Everyone deserves to feel better, and I’m here to make that happen, one session at a time.
What You Can Expect
When you choose to work with me, you’re choosing a space where you’re valued—not just for your struggles, but for your strengths too. My goal is to make therapy fit your life, whether you come to my cozy office in St. Louis or we meet virtually from anywhere in Missouri. Learn more about how my sliding scale works and how I can help you find the right fit here.

Hi, I'm Liz! (Your Therapist, Not Your Judge)
Hey there! I’m Liz Wooten, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in St. Louis. If you’ve landed here, you’re already taking a huge, brave step toward improving your well-being, and I want you to know, I’m really proud of you for that. Starting therapy can feel a little overwhelming—trust me, I get it—but my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Think of me as your mental health co-pilot, ready to navigate life’s ups and downs with you. Together, we’ll explore, grow, and maybe even laugh along the way!
I’ve been working in mental health for over 14 years, and my journey began in case management. I spent years helping individuals and families tackle life’s toughest challenges, access vital resources, and advocate for their needs. That experience showed me just how powerful having the right support can be, and it’s what ultimately led me here—to you.
I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Webster University and my bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University. My education gave me the tools to approach therapy in a compassionate and client-centered way, and it’s the foundation I build on every day in our sessions together.
One of the most life-changing experiences for me was providing crisis intervention in hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. That time taught me so much about resilience, the need for accessible mental health care, and the importance of human connection in the healing process. It was a humbling reminder of how vital empathy and understanding are in our work together.
I’ve also spent a significant part of my career working with the neurodivergent community. Whether it’s helping clients develop social skills, work through emotional learning strategies, or providing support for job skills training, creating a neurodiversity-affirming space is something I’m deeply passionate about. Every person’s journey is different, and I’m committed to making sure you feel seen and valued for who you are.
In addition to that, I’ve worked with underprivileged families and indigenous communities, advocating for their access to resources and mental health support. It’s important to me that no matter your background, you feel empowered to take control of your mental health journey.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and person-centered. Therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, and that’s exactly how we’ll approach it. We’ll dig into your story, uncover your strengths, and figure out what works best for you. Whether you’re managing anxiety, working through ADHD, or navigating life as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’ll be right there, walking beside you through it all.
Therapy with me? It’s a space for self-exploration, growth, and yes, even a little humor! We’ll work through the hard stuff and celebrate your wins—big and small—along the way. My ultimate goal is to help you live a life that feels true to who you are—bold, authentic, and unapologetically YOU.
The Human Behind the Therapist
Beyond the therapy room, I’m just like you—filled with my own quirks and passions. I believe connecting as humans first is key to building trust and creating a space where you can be your authentic self. Here’s a little peek into the person I am when I’m not in a therapy session:
You’ll often find me in the kitchen baking up a storm or experimenting with new recipes. I absolutely love discovering hidden gems in the St. Louis food scene, whether it’s a hole-in-the-wall diner or a chic new café. For me, food is an adventure—it’s where I unwind and explore creativity. And honestly, nothing beats sharing a home-baked treat with the people I care about.
Outside of work, I’m a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks. If there’s a game on, you can bet I’m cheering them on! When I’m not watching basketball, I’m usually tending to my growing collection of plants (yes, I’m a proud plant mom!) or getting lost in a thought-provoking podcast. Photography is another passion of mine—I love capturing moments, especially when I’m spending time outdoors. The natural beauty around St. Louis is something I try to soak in as much as possible. It’s how I recharge and find balance.
At the heart of everything I do are my values: authenticity, compassion, and the belief in the power of human connection. These values guide how I show up for you in therapy. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to express yourself fully, explore your vulnerabilities, and celebrate your strengths. Together, we’ll work on embracing who you are, helping you live a life that feels true and unapologetically yours.
If you want to know more or are ready to start working together, feel free to reach out here. Let’s team up and create a brighter, more fulfilling future for you!
