We Handle the Paperwork: Less Stress, More Self-Care

When you’re reaching out for help, the last thing you should be stressing over is paperwork. I totally get it—insurance can be overwhelming. That’s why I take care of everything for you, from verifying your insurance benefits to submitting claims. My goal is to make sure you can fully focus on your well-being, while I make the insurance process simple and stress-free. It’s all part of the therapy experience at Enlitens Counseling here in St. Louis.
Insurance Providers I Work With
I’m in-network with several major insurance carriers, which makes it easier for you to access the support you need. Here’s a list of the insurance providers I currently work with: And here’s some exciting news—I’m working hard to become an in-network provider for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. While I don’t have an exact date just yet, I’ll keep you posted as I continue expanding to better serve the St. Louis community.
How to Get Started with Your Insurance
Using your insurance with me is straightforward. Here’s what to do:
  • Reach Out to Me: Give me a call or schedule a free consultation. I’ll handle the rest, including verifying your benefits before your first session, so you know exactly what to expect—no surprises.
  • Enjoy Your Therapy: While you focus on your sessions, I’ll take care of all the insurance claims and billing in the background. You can leave all that paperwork to me.
What if I Don’t See My Insurance Provider?
No worries at all! I’m always working to expand my network to meet your needs in St. Louis and beyond. If your insurance provider isn’t listed, reach out and we’ll figure out the best way to make therapy accessible to you. Whether that means exploring out-of-network options or another flexible approach, we’ll find a way that works.
Need More Flexibility?
If you prefer not to go through insurance, that’s completely okay! I offer a sliding scale fee structure that ranges from $50 to $100 per session based on your financial situation. This way, therapy stays affordable and accessible to everyone. If you’re ready to take the next step toward feeling better, contact me today and schedule your consultation. I’m here to help make the process as easy as possible, so you can focus on your well-being.
Client Experience: Stress-Free Counseling with UHC
Let me share a story with you. Sarah, one of my clients who struggles with ADHD, came to me feeling completely overwhelmed—not just by life, but by her insurance. She had no idea whether her United Healthcare (UHC) plan would cover her therapy sessions. After she reached out, I took care of everything—verifying her benefits, filing her claims, and making sure she could focus on what really mattered: her sessions. Sarah now feels more in control and is grateful for a space where she doesn’t have to worry about the paperwork.
Your Mental Health Matters, and I’m Here to Help
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by life, paperwork, or just figuring out insurance, I get it. But you’re not alone in this. Many of my clients start off feeling exactly the same—anxious and unsure of how to navigate therapy with insurance. Let me handle the logistics, so you can focus on what truly matters: feeling better and taking care of your mental health. Whether you’re in Tower Grove or Kirkwood, I’ve got you covered.

Making Therapy Accessible: Exploring Your Options

I know that figuring out how to pay for therapy can sometimes feel like yet another hurdle to getting the help you need. But trust me, there are many different ways we can work together to make sure finances don’t stand in your way. Whether you’re using insurance or prefer an alternative option like the sliding scale fee structure, I’m committed to ensuring therapy is accessible for everyone, including those in the St. Louis area. One of the most common questions I get from new clients is, “What happens if I have a high deductible?” Or, “What if I can’t meet my co-pay?” If you’re worried about how your coverage works with out-of-pocket costs, let’s walk through the details together. I’ll help you understand what your insurance benefits really cover and how we can create a plan that works best for you.
Considering Out-of-Network Options?
If your provider isn’t in-network, that doesn’t mean therapy is out of reach. Many clients have found that their out-of-network benefits still offer significant coverage for their sessions. I can work with you to submit claims for reimbursement, helping you get the most out of your St. Louis counseling services. Whether it’s UMR, Aetna, or another carrier, we can explore what out-of-network benefits might look like for you. For example, one of my clients, Jamie, has UMR insurance and was unsure if therapy was even an option because I wasn’t in-network at the time. After looking at their policy, we realized that they could still submit claims for reimbursement with just a bit of paperwork. We worked together to make sure everything was submitted correctly, and now Jamie is attending regular therapy sessions without feeling the financial burden they were once worried about.
Telehealth Counseling: Covered and Convenient
Whether you’re working from home or just juggling a packed schedule, I know that sometimes getting into the office can be tough. That’s why I offer telehealth counseling services for clients across St. Louis and beyond. Most insurance providers, including United Healthcare, UMR, and Aetna, cover telehealth sessions just like in-person appointments, so you can access therapy wherever you are. I’ve found that many clients—whether they’re managing anxiety, ADHD, or navigating life’s challenges—appreciate the flexibility and convenience of telehealth. Like my client Sarah, who struggles with social anxiety. She found that doing sessions from the comfort of her home made it much easier to open up and get the support she needed without the extra stress of traveling to an appointment.
Getting Started is Simple
If you’re unsure about what your insurance covers or you have specific questions about starting therapy, I’m here to help. Together, we can figure out the best way to make therapy work for you—whether through your insurance plan, using out-of-network benefits, or exploring sliding scale options. It’s all about making sure you feel supported, not stressed, when it comes to getting help. If you’re ready to start, contact me today, and we can explore what options are available to you. Let’s make this journey as smooth as possible, whether you’re anywhere across the St. Louis area or the state of Missouri.

Insurance FAQs: Your Questions, Answered Clearly

What if my insurance isn't listed on your website?

Don’t worry! Our list of accepted insurance providers is constantly expanding. Reach out to us, and we’ll gladly check your coverage and explore options for making therapy affordable.

The best way to find out is to contact your insurance provider directly. They can provide details about your mental health benefits, including coverage for therapy sessions, any copays or deductibles, and any limitations on the number of sessions covered.

In-network providers have a contract with your insurance company, which typically means lower out-of-pocket costs for you. Out-of-network providers don’t have a contract, and you might have to pay more upfront and seek reimbursement later.

If you have a high deductible, you’ll likely need to pay the full session fee until you meet your deductible. We can provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Some insurance plans require a referral, while others don’t. It’s best to check with your insurance provider to confirm their specific requirements.

We understand that life happens. Please let us know by 11:59pm the day before your session, or a late cancellation fee of $25 is assessed. If you reschedule within 3 business days, we will apply that $25 to your next session. We are always more than happy to work with you. Just reach out. We got you.

Understand your coverage limits, including the number of sessions covered per year and any restrictions on the types of therapy covered. Also, be sure to keep track of your out-of-pocket expenses for potential tax deductions or reimbursement.

Some insurance plans cover couples or family therapy, while others don’t. We can help you verify your coverage and explore options if your plan doesn’t include these services.

We’re here to help! Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns about your insurance coverage or billing. We’ll do our best to provide clear and helpful answers.

We have to share a diagnosis code with your insurance company for billing purposes. It’s just part of the process, but if you have any concerns about a specific diagnosis being shared, let’s chat about it. We also need to keep brief notes about our sessions, which insurance might request. These notes are usually pretty general, like “Discussed coping skills for anxiety” or “Explored family dynamics.” Nothing too personal or revealing!

Your privacy is super important to us, so if you have any questions or worries about this, please don’t hesitate to bring them up. We can talk it through and find a solution that feels comfortable for you.

Many insurance plans now cover online therapy, also known as telehealth. We can help you confirm your coverage and set up secure virtual sessions if needed.

We’re conveniently located in South St. Louis County, just over a mile from Mercy South Hospital and Highway 270 on Tesson Ferry Road. Easy to find, even if your GPS is having a meltdown.
