I’m Liz, your go-to expert in mental health with a decade of diverse experience. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri and meet with people at my Saint Louis metro office in South County or throughout the state virtually.
MA | LPC | NCC
For over a decade, I’ve been there for people from childhood to adulthood, helping them with different needs. My work includes helping those with Autism, supporting families, guiding people in their jobs, and stepping in during emergencies. I work with both kids and adults to tackle challenges related to ADHD, Autism, eating disorders, and everyday worries like anxiety and depression.
Attachment theory is focused on the relationships and bonds between people
Emotion-focused therapy works on how your emotions impact your daily life
Geek therapy uses all things nerdy to bring interests from pop culture into therapy
I really enjoy bringing the things we like into sessions to help understand mental health (like I have a whole book on how Harry Potter can be therapeutic). I actually enjoy it so much I’m working on a certification on how to bring all things geeky into counseling. Does your child need counseling? Let’s team together today to get them the help they deserve.
Counselors have to have a lot of training before we can help people and we gotta tell people what that is; but we do it with all these letters no one knows until they google.
Here’s a guide.
MA – I have my graduate degree in counseling; it’s a Master of Arts
LPC- Means I’ve met all the requirements to be a Licensed Professional Counselor by the state of Missouri.
NCC – I’m a Nationally Certified Counselor by the The National Board for Certified Counselors. (Basically I took more classes in grad school and have some additional training.)
Well, that’s easy, I have 6 dogs. Not a bunch of little dogs like I’m sure you are imagining. The big kind. Just big fluffy doggos. You could say that too much of one thing is a bad thing, but guess who’s never cold at night?
Like is kind of an understatement. I honestly find them therapeutic, and you would be surprised at how applicable they are to mental health. It’s honestly what got me into “nerd” culture and where I was introduced to Geek Therapy.
